Test Name:
SARS-CoV-2 (COVIDAIR)
Test Code:
COVIDAIR (can only be ordered by MOH-approved SASH clinics)
Specialised Test:
No - Nett Price
Turnaround Time:

Results are expected within 24 hours upon receiving the sample.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Turnaround Time is measured from time the sample is received by the laboratory to resulting for verified negative results. It is subject to fluctuations including unusual testing surges. Please allow time (1.5 to 2 hours) for despatch collection to delivery to lab in setting expectations with your patients. We are working on collection schedules for each clinic in 2022. We will communicate this schedule via your account managers.
  2. For COVID PCR Express tests, the time of notification of the preliminary results be it negative, positive or invalid, will be considered as the end time of the turnaround time. Actual verified results may exceed the stated Turnaround Time especially if a confirmatory test re-run is required. Please ensure that patients are counselled appropriately that express results verified within the stated 3hr TAT are for negative results.
  3. If we fail to meet the stated turnaround time of the COVID PCR Express test, the price of the next service tier will be charged to the clinic. For example, if you had ordered a COVID PCR Express test (3 hours turnaround time) and we resulted in 3.5hrs, you will be charged the COVID19GEN rate instead of the rate for COVID PCR Express.
  4. If a specimen is rejected by the laboratory and COVID PCR Express was ordered, the subsequent sample will be accorded Express service.

Please refer to the table under Additional Notes for COVIDAIR cut-off times based on patients’ flight departure times.
