Ordering Tests

This depends on the status of the sample. Please call us at 62789188 as soon as possible so that we can conduct the relevant checks on whether we can assist you with the request.

Yes, if a profile you are looking for is not an existing profile listed in our laboratory services guide, please email pls.marketing@parkwaypantai.com so that we can specially tailor profiles to cater to your needs.

While we only accept samples during outpatient lab operating hours, samples continue to be processed after hours. For after hours inpatient specimens, samples will be sent through the Accident & Emergency department - additional charges will apply.

Seminal Analysis and Evaluation (SE)

As the test is conducted at our outpatient labs strictly by appointment only, please call us at 62789188 to set an appointment for your patient for semen collection. The patient will be required to collect his specimen via masturbation in a clean container provided by the lab. The patient should abstain from sexual activity for 2-7 days prior to specimen collection and take note of the time the specimen is collected, number of days of abstinence from sexual activity and if any spillage occurred. The cut-off time for the specimen to be received by the lab is as follows:
Mondays – Fridays: Up to 12.30pm;
Saturdays: Up to 11am

Urea Breath Test 13C (Helicobacter Pylori) (UBT)

As the test is conducted at our outpatient labs strictly by appointment only, please call 62789188 to set an appointment for your patient for the collection of your patient’s breath samples for analysis.

Sample type:

1. Pre- and Post-urea breath samples in special collection bags
2. Overnight fasting is required if the test is to be carried out in the morning
3. A four-hour fast is required prior to the test if it is to be conducted in the later part of the day. Patients are advised not to take any lunch while a light breakfast is permitted.

Medication to Avoid:

1. UBT must not be performed within 28 days of completing treatment.
2. PPI, antibiotics and bismuth or any drugs used in monotherapy known to suppress urease activity of HP could give false negative results. Please ensure a lapse of at least 14 days before UBT.
3. H2 antagonists should be avoided on the day of the test.
4. Antacids and other medication with acid neutralizing effects should be avoided on the day of test.

Test Results

Answer:

In order to safeguard confidentiality, test results will only be released directly to the physician who ordered the tests. However, we can also release results to co-managing physicians if the physician who ordered the tests makes an indication to do so in the lab request form.

Billing invoices are usually issued on the 2nd or the beginning of each month.
